About the Department
The Department of Community Medicine at Omandurar Medical College focuses on improving public health through education, research, and community engagement. Our mission is to train future healthcare professionals to address health challenges at the population level, emphasizing prevention, health promotion, and equitable healthcare delivery.
The department integrates classroom teaching with fieldwork, providing students with hands-on experience in rural and urban health settings. Through health surveys, camps, and outreach programs, students gain practical insights into public health issues, including epidemiology, maternal and child health, and disease prevention.
In addition to education, the department actively conducts research on pressing health concerns, contributing to policy formulation and community well-being. Collaborative efforts with government and non-governmental organizations enhance the reach and impact of our initiatives.
